2003 Afghanistan Human Rights Report, there is an archive of news reports, transcripts, and articles. The Issues in Depth portion of the site has reports on the International Conference on Afghanistan, the Partnership for Afghan Recovery and features on Afghan Women. Photo galleries and videos (under Partnership for Afghan recovery) are presented as well

relief maps), city maps (Herat, Kabul), detailed areas, thematic maps
(land use, economics, ethnolinguistic groups, etc.) and historical maps.
Most items presented here are CIA maps. There is also a long list of
maps available at other sites, which include war maps from Operation
Enduring Freedom in 2001-2002.

"With all the recent interest in the country of Afghanistan, this site offers some spectacular images of the country from the pre-Russian invasion era. The site documents the life and culture of the area during the 1960s. Teachers might find this site useful for taking their students on a virtual tour of the country as a prelude to a discussion of the current events. The images in this online exhibit are categorized into six major areas: Architecture, History, Land, People, Settlements, and Transportation. Included is a map of the country. Images from Kabul, Hindu Kush, and Mazar-e Sharif can be viewed by clicking on the map."
