Mark Ockerbloom's formidable compendium of censorship attempts throughout
history and around the world. A subsection of The On-Line Books Page from the
University of Pennsylvania, Banned Books On-Line presents a "special
exhibit of books that have been the objects of censorship or censorship attempts".
Ockerbloom's history of censorship includes links to electronic texts of older
works (James Joyce's 'Ulysses' and Voltaire's 'Candide', for example) that have
been challenged as well as information about more modern censorship issues
