contact site for students and scholars involved in genocide research. To that
end, it provides three important online bibliographies of research publications:
books since 1992, articles since 1992, and an annotated bibliography of selected
books. The annotations in the latter are in the form of informative abstracts,
much more useful than the bare titles for deducing the content of the
publications listed. ...The first of two links pages provides course
information, international law, and human rights, as well as other online
bibliographies, while the second lists sites that focus on specific genocidal
events. ...We think this sober site is valuable in increasing the
visibility of genocide as a topic of study and concern.

Anti-Slavery
The overall aim of the Antislavery organization is to help individuals
understand the role of human rights in today's world, as well as the
underlying attitudes which lead to the respect, or violation of them. The
group's work focuses particularly on examples of contemporary and
historical slavery and the international instruments used to protect human
rights. As well as photographs and exhibitions the website also includes a
section where you can find more information about how you can purchase
anti-slavery educational resources.

Tolerance
The Simon Wiesenthal Center, the Jewish human rights agency,
has recently created an online Museum of Tolerance. This includes 3,000 text
files and thousands of photographs on the Holocaust and the Second World War.
A Teacher's Resource section provides a glossary, timeline, bibliographies, 36
questions and answers about the Holocaust and curricular resources for
teachers. The website also includes 13,785 documents in English, German and
Hebrew from the Institute of Documentation in Israel.

Liberty - protecting civil liberties - promoting human rights (britisk
organisation)
Seventy years ago today Liberty was launched in a letter to the
Manchester Guardian. Clement Attlee, Harold Laski, H. G. Wells and others
drew attention to the "general and alarming tendency to encroachment on
the liberty of the citizen". The organization is currently campaigning
against the government decision to detain people under new terrorism laws
without charging them or putting them on trial. The organization is also
involved in the defence of Katharine Gun, who used to work as a translator
at GCHQ, the Government's eavesdropping centre. In the weeks leading up to
the Iraq War, at a time when the UN was still considering whether to pass
a second resolution authorising war, she disclosed that the American
National Security Agency had asked the British Government to help in the
illegal surveillance of the six delegations holding the balance of power
in the UN Security Council.
